Not only was Dr. Bob's Home an important site in AA's early years, over time, Bob and Anne Smith welcomed recovering alcoholics to stay in the Akron house for as long as it took for them to recover to the point of being able to live independently. Today, Dr. Bob's Home is visited annually by thousands who wish to see where our program of recovery was born and feel a closeness to the two men who, with a Higher Power's help, overcame their dependence on alcohol and discovered a way for countless others to do the same.
